Luis Elias Rios, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend

passed away unexpectedly on December 16, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on March 7, 1955, Luis grew up as the fifth of seven siblings in a household filled with love and laughter.

Affectionately called Louie by his family, he was known for his sharp wit, sense of humor and big heart. Louie had a gift for making those around him feel special. His laughter was contagious, his kindness boundless, and his presence always uplifting. Louie had a remarkable ability to turn even the toughest days into moments of light and joy, and his generous spirit left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Louie is survived by his daughter Jamayra, grandson Justin, his siblings Tommy (Diana), Jose (Adela), Edgar (Lillian), Grizel (Paul), David (Kayte); nieces Grizel (Steve), Karim (Kareem), Miranda, Sammie (Kyle), Amaris, Maia; nephews Das, Tomas, Chris, Elliot, his Godson Sammy; and extended family, Griselda, Mayra, Julio, Julia, Millie, and his dear friend Yvette.

He adored his family and friends and will be deeply missed. His memory will live on in the countless stories he shared and the countless memories we made with him.

A celebration of Louie’s life will be held on December 21st, 2024 at Money & King Vienna Funeral Home, between the hours of 12 PM and 5 PM, with a service at 3 PM.

Friends and family will gather to honor his legacy and share memories of a man who made the world a brighter place.

Rest in peace, Louie. Your heart was as big as your personality, and we will remember you always.

  3. He was the type who was always happy to see you and always quick to share a laugh. The type who could make you smile just by thinking about him. His laughter was infectious and his love was inspiring. We love you miss you greatly Uncle Louis but we know you are in a better place.

  4. Louie gave much of his time helping others at the Unity Club in Falls Church, VA, sharing his joy and life in sobriety. Louie’s baritone voice and spirit embraced the hearts and souls of so many of us who really needed it. The Unity Club and all of Louie’s friends will miss his laughter, smile, joy of living and the sharing of his wisdom and experience, Rest in Peace old friend!

  5. Luis was such an energetic and loving guy. I’ll never forget the joy he brought to a room. Most of my memories were at family gatherings at Lilian Rios’s house with him. I looked forward every year to sharing dinner with him and watching Thanksgiving football with him.

  6. It’s always difficult to lose a family member but to lose a sibling is heart wrenching. Although we didn’t know Louis personally, we know David, and after reading the obituary, we realize his kindness and welcoming smile must be a Rios family trait. Condolences to the family and prayers for healing.
