Margaret "Peggy" Williams

Peggy passed away September 6, 2014. She is survived by her sisters, Geraldine W. Turner of Goochland, VA, and Patricia M. Williams of Falls Church, VA.

Peggy's compassionate nature motivated her life's interests, from working at a women's shelter, to volunteering for CASA, to adopting her much-beloved shelter dog, Otter. Her greatest gifts were her infectious love for life - which she expressed through cultivating plants, creating stunning flower arrangements, working on environmental issues for Fairfax County, dancing - and her laughter which she shared with everyone she met.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2014, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Money & King Funeral Home, 171 Maple Ave. W, Vienna, VA, where a memorial service will take place on Monday, September 15, 2014, at 11:00 am. Interment at Columbia Gardens Cemetery.

Guestbook

  1. I am deeply saddened by Peggy’s passing and in this sadness I find gratitude. I am honored to have called her my friend, blessed to have had her beautiful spirit in my life. When darkness descends I will recall her hearty laugh & the swishing of her skirt while she danced on by. My greatest condolences to the family and friends who loved her so much.

  2. Every time I hear the song: “I Love to Watch A Woman Dance” by the Eagles it makes me think of Peggy. Especially the words: “she spreads her arms and bows her head” because that is how she always began. She loved dance. She introduced me to flamingo at one of her favorite places, Wolf Trap! Peggy was a kind and loving soul. A dancer, a teacher, a mentor, a friend. Our favorite “dirt girl” will be missed. It was an honor to know her and, of course, her beloved Otter. May her light continue to shine on in our hearts. Blessings to all.

  3. Being Peggy’s friend has definitely made me a better person. I almost always ended our conversations with “I am so glad I talked to you” or “That’s why I am glad I talked to you” because my mind and heart were always clearer after speaking with her. I am so very sorry for your loss. I will This is not goodbye, my dear friend, Peggy. I will see you later!

  4. Peggy is a lovely, constantly blithe spirit whom we love so very much. One of my three nieces, she will be greatly missed but I know that Jim and Gerrie will welcome her home. Go with your usual gusto, Sweetie!

  5. Helen Hoover said of Nature: There is magic in the forest, magic to heal the wounds made by men. Time spent with Peggy was so like that like a trip to the woods. Fun. Precious. Healing. Special. I wont ever forget Peggy for that gift, that privilege. Nor will many, many others.

  6. While I did not know Peggy, she was kind and wonderful to my boys and for that I am forever grateful. I know they loved and appreciated her loving spirit and positive outlook toward life and toward them.

  7. Peggy cared so much about so many and had such a big heart. I will miss her irreverent sense of humor. But, I will always have “Peggy” moments and memories. Gone, but not forgotten.

  8. Peggy was a dear friend & I am heartbroken by her passing. She lived her life with passion, music & lots of color. She was my backpacking buddy, my soul sister & my Santana groupie & will be truly missed. Thank you for being my friend. You will always & forever be in my heart. My heartfelt condolences to her family. May the love of each other comfort you during this difficult time.
