Margaret Virginia Clark
October 18, 1920 ~ October 12, 2016
Margaret Clark, age 95, of Clifton, VA passed peacefully on October 12, 2016. She was born Margaret Virginia Presgraves in Great Falls, VA to the late Roy Lee Presgraves and Willie Bailey Dailey. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Clark, sister Louise Ellmore, and brothers Eugene and James Presgraves. Margaret is survived by her loving children, Barbara Hamilton and Gary Clark, her five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Margaret Clark had a quiet childhood growing up on a farm near Colvin Run in Great Falls. As a child she enjoyed riding horses and tending to the other animals on her parent's farm. Although Margaret grew up during the depression, their family always had plenty to eat from their own harvest. One of her favorite memories was when extended family members and friends would come to visit because they would sing songs and play instruments late into the night. It was during one of these gatherings that she was introduced to Willard. Willard and Margaret fell in love and were soon married with her father's permission. Margaret's mother took her and Willard to the Justice of the Peace in Fairfax and they wed on June 14, 1941. After they married, Willard built them a three bedroom home in Great Falls, Virginia where they would raise their family. Willard and Margaret had two beautiful children, Barbara and Gary, and resided in their Great Falls home for over 50 years. Willard was called to serve in WWII while Margaret took care of their home and their daughter until he returned under horrible circumstances in 1945. They were also blessed with a son a few years later. Willard became handicapped from injuries obtained during the war and in turn, Margaret took care of him for the rest of his life until he passed in December 2006. After Willard passed she sold her beloved home in Great Falls and moved in with Barbara in Fairfax. From this point on, Margaret spent her summers in Fairfax with Barbara and winters in Hilton Head with her son Gary. She enjoyed this arrangement because it gave her the opportunity to spend time with both of her children and avoid the cold weather! Throughout her life, Margaret stayed a faithful follower of God and in her later years enjoyed attending church with Barbara or Gary every Sunday. She had many friends at church and looked forward to every Sunday Service. Another one of her greatest enjoyments was being a grandmother and a great-grandmother. She loved being a grandparent more than anything and did her best to attend every play, graduation, and sports game that she could. She was a kind, sincere, and gentle woman and will be greatly missed by us all.

William & I want to express our most heartfelt condolences to Barbara, Gary, Rick & Lisa & all the great-grandchildren on the passing of Aunt Markie. Heaven has now gained a most amazingly glorious angel. We will miss her! Never forget how kind she was to me my entire life.
It is with deep sympathy that I am writing in Margaret’s “guestbook”. I knew Margaret as she was my son-in-law John Hamilton’s grandmother. She was such a dear kind sweet woman who always had a smile on her face whenever I saw her. I remember she always called me sweetie. She will be greatly missed. I am so glad to have known her and that my grandchildren Jenna and Dylan had such a loving great grandmother.
I will never forget how sweet this woman was. Always a smile with a twinkle ✨ in her eyes. We sure loved our mini ice cream cones. She’d ask me if I’d want one and that was her way of telling me she wanted one. Big smile I would get from her. I hope you are resting in peace in heaven where you will be another Angel 😇 the Lord has called home. I am sure going to miss you but all the memories will stay tucked inside my heart. May God Bless all of you. â¤ï¸
