Marlene Plasha Dana, 94, of Vienna, Virginia passed away on December 24, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Glenn Burton Dana. Loving mother to Geoffrey Bruce Dana, Glenn John (Sharon Brophy) Dana, Gerard Freeman (Vallery Morgan) Dana, Dannielle Marie Dana Phillips, and Gregory Michael Dana. Devoted Mimi to grandchildren Jason, Jeremy, Benjamin, Jackson, Zachary Michael D., Zachary Phillip R., Melinda, Matthew, and great grandchildren Abraham and Anelise.
Mrs. Dana was born in Saint Clair, Pennsylvania on August 18, 1931 to John and Julia (Wochok) Plasha. Mrs. Dana graduated from St. Clair High School in 1949. In 1950, she moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). In July of 1954, Mrs. Dana married the love of her life, Glenn Burton Dana, a CIA officer. Mr. and Mrs. Dana left shortly thereafter for their first post in Bangkok, Thailand. In subsequent years, they traveled to posts in Saigon, Vietnam; Vientiane, Laos; Hong Kong, BCC; and Tokyo, Japan. In 1974, Mrs. Dana resumed her career at the CIA, and retired in 1992 as an FOIA and Litigation Officer.
A Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Epiphany of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, 3410 Woodburn Road, Annandale, Virginia, on January 7, 2026 at 10:00am. Internment private at a later date
