Martha Jean Toms (Age 70) of Oakton, VA died peacefully on Thursday, August 19, 2021. She was born to David P. Thomas and Martha Nell (Townsend) Thomas in Tuscaloosa, AL in 1950. She attended public school before transferring to The Atlanta Speech School in Atlanta, GA.
Martha received B.A. in Sociology-Social Work from Gallaudet College (University) in December 1974. She considered herself a member of the Class of 1975. She worked at the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection in the Office of Personnel as a Management Analyst for 31 years. She retired in 2006. Martha loved to travel to places such as Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Europe, and Australia. She was a very enthusiastic Alabama “Roll Tide” Fan. She loved reading and doing crafts.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael P. Toms; loving cousins; and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and beloved aunt, Nita Jean Townsend Reagan.
