Mary Catherine (Kitty) Hayes, age 83, of New Market and formerly of Vienna, VA died on Wednesday, January 27, 2015 at Shenandoah Place Assisted Living. She was the wife of Jack L. Hayes.

Born March 7, 1932 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Carroll Payne and Addie Russell Payne.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, James C. Hayes, his wife, Kara, Joseph L. Hayes, his wife, Kim and Barbara J. Griffin, her husband, Bud; her sisters, Joan Hubbard, her husband, Lee and Norma Payne; her grandchildren, Jason, John, Jennifer, Joey, Jordan, Kate, Kyle, Trey and Josh and her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Brenna, Mackenzie, Cameron, Deacon and Mabel.

The family will receive friends at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA on Tuesday, February 2 from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 8601 Wolftrap Rd., Vienna, VA on Wednesday, February 3 at 10 AM. The interment will follow at National Memorial Park.

  1. Jack, So sorry to hear of Kitty’s passing. I know she has struggled for sometime with cancer. She was a fighter and a wonderful lady. I feel very fortunate to have known her. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and the family. She and I were members of the Edinburg FCE. We will all miss her.
