Guestbook

  1. Sue; I never met your Mom but from our conversations about “MOM’S” I know your Mom was very special to you. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. Sue: I am sorry for the loss of your mother. If she was anything like you, she must have been a wonderful woman. You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers. Kathy Adach

  3. To Sue and all of the Oakes family, my heart goes out to you on the loss of your Mom. Support and love each other and that will be the best evidence of Mary Ellen’s wonderful contribution to the world. Remember, no one is really dead until the last person who remembers them is dead; so grieve as you must but celebrate her life and your memories. With my thoughts and prayers, Anne van Saun (Sampson).

  4. I am so sorry about your Mom. Even though I don’t know most of the family-just Sue, I have heard so much about all of you and how wonderful you are and how wonderful your Mom was to all of you. Thinking of you all. Fondly, Irene Grey

  7. Friends, I worked with your Mom at St. Pius X. I was the school Principal and have wonderful memeories of her kindness and great sense of fun. We spent many happy moments together. She was a great lady and now she is with your dear Dad. Be at peace for both of them. Barbara Heaney

  8. I worked with Mary Ellen Oakes at Bloomingdales. She was a wonderful person and a nice friend to have known. Rest in Peace…

  9. Hi- to the family/loved ones of Mrs. Oakes- Just wanted to express condolences on the loss of your wonderful mother. While I met her towards the end of her life, when she was at the nursing home, it was clearly evident how much mutual love you have in your family, for instance that recent Saturday when she was outside by the pond surrounded by so many family members/loved ones. I appreciated her joy/humor and ability to smile & sing and to radiate love, even though she may not have felt great. I hope you will each have comfort in your memories of your mom, until that day when you can see each other again.

  10. Our deepest sympathy to Mary Ellen’s family. We remember her fondly, and are grateful for the many years that she shared her time and talents with St. Pius.

  11. “Honoring the beautiful memories, celebrating a loving spirit, grieving a painful loss, remembering a wonderful life”– May it be of some comfort to know that MaryEllen touched many lives with kindness and joy…and that may hearts remember her with love. Sharing your sorrow. May she rest in peace.

  12. I can still here your mother’s voice rising above her music…she is a huge part of the great memories I have from Pius all those years ago. She was a special lady and leaves a smile on my face as I remember her.

  13. We wish to express our deepest sympathies and condolences to the entire Oakes family and will cherish the memories we have of Mary Ellen. May she rest in eternal peace.

  14. To Mary Ellen’s Family, My condolences to all, just thought I would let you know what a pleasure it was to know your mom, as I had the opportunity to spend quite a bit of time with her in The Gardens dining room, usually arguing about our sugar free desserts, that was me arguing that she should have the sugar free, she was perfectly fine with eating the regular dessert, as she would tell me repeatly, had too love her, we usually ended our debate with an off color remark by Mary Ellen which would inevetably have me in stiches, she choice her words carefully, new exactley what she was saying and doing and genuinely enjoyed the moment, these times I will never forget, thank you for sharing your mom, she will be sorely missed. Warmest Regards Peter

  15. The news of Mom’s passing leaves me with a heavy heart, but the fondest of memories of a woman who, in my eyes, was an angel that walked among us. She gave of herself so unconditionally to so many and so often. I will never forget all the love, kindness and support that she showered me with, as did each of you. My heart is with all of you always, and Mom is now with Dad and her beloved Boxers again. I will forever miss them both. My deepest Condolences and Love to you all, JaneAnn

  17. To MaryEllen’s Family I worked with your mother a number of years ago and she was one of the sweetest, most generous people I have known. She faced life’s challenges with courage and dignity. She was a joy to know. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
