  26. To MJ’s family Before MJ had a conflict of art classes with the Vienna unit of the League of Women Voters, I used to benefit from her approach and thoughts to the issues we were considering in our meetings. She taught and questioned and made wry comments. I missed her when she followed her heart into making art but could not fault her choice. I am a richer person for having known her. You who are her family have my heartfelt sympathy.

  27. The Clinton family has been very fortunate to have shared so many good times with MJ over the years. The great Cronin-Clinton holiday celebrations spanning multiple decades will be forever treasured. Our two families basically grew up together. She was one of a kind and will be sorely missed.

This is especially true given the challenges that I am sure the kids put her through growing up.

  39. Mary Jane was, many years ago, a valued colleague in our shared fight for truth and justice at HEW(or at least what we then construed such to be) Even more importantly, she continued to be a treasured friend over all these years. Her unfailing humor, intellect, courage, total lack of self-pity, and solid values are all too rare in our current world.

  40. I am so sorry for your loss. May your heart and soul find peace and comfort. Peace, prayers and blessings to all.

  41. Cronins: Sorry to hear about Mary-Jane’s passing, and sorry that I’m a little late checking in. Sorrow aside, I hope it will be viewed as just that — a passing to somewhere else, rather than a loss. Mom (RIP, 1990) and Mary Jane were always the very dearest of friends, and I remember MJ from as far back as memory serves me. I always liked it when she was over to visit or when we got together at the Seidenbergs. Hope all’s well with everybody. Sandy Beck 07/02/2010

  42. Dear John, Ann, and Kids, We are so sorry for all your pain. Your sister and your mom was a woman of so many virutes. I knew her as funny, sharp witted, and yet welcoming and loving. I knew she made us feel welcome and that she was a huge source of joy to Ann, but I had no idea what an impressive woman she was until I read her obituary. She was modest and unassuming. I don’t know too many women with a resume like hers. Thank you for sharing her with us on those rare occasions that we were blessed with her company. :You have an advocate in heaven. check We have an advocate there. Yours with love, Rose and the rest of the Bornhops
