Mary Jane Stack

Mary Jane Stack passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, in Reston Virginia.  She was born in Schenectady, New York on December 26, 1935 to Vincent and Agnes Meara.  Jane graduated from the State University of New York in Albany with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. Following graduation, she worked as an aeronautic project manager at Martin Marietta in Albany.

She married E. Donald Stack on June 22, 1957 in Maryland and was a stay-at-home mom until all the kids were in high school.

Once her children were grown, Jane returned to the workforce and had a thirteen-year career with the federal government, including positions at the State Department, CIA and US Embassy in Tokyo.

She is survived by her sisters Katherine Sullivan and Susan Coyle, as well as her four children, sons Michael, Patrick and Ted Stack and her daughter Catherine Moran as well as her twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

There will be a wake at Money and King Funeral Home in Vienna on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 5:00-7:00pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas à Becket Catholic Church on Friday February 6, 2026, at 11:00. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery in the future.
