Maryann Josephine “Mary Jo” Doyle
March 19, 1943 – December 15, 2025

Maryann Josephine Doyle, lovingly known as Mary Jo, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born on March 19, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, to Mary Wiegand and Frederick Winston Doyle.

Mary Jo was preceded in life by a childhood shaped deeply by family and love. At the age of six, she was raised by her beloved sister, Patricia Scofield, and Patricia’s husband, Henry Scofield Jr. . She grew up alongside their daughter, Kathleen Porter (Bill Porter), who was not only her niece but truly her sister in heart and in life. Mary Jo shared a close bond with her siblings, Patricia Scofield and Roger Doyle, which remained meaningful throughout her life.

Mary Jo leaves behind her devoted daughter, Marissa King (Bobby Huntley), and her treasured granddaughter, Jordan Camilla, whom she absolutely adored. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and lifelong friends who were deeply loved and cherished.

Known by many affectionate names—Jo-Jo, Ya-Ya, Mama Jo, and Dodie—Mary Jo was truly loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed a long and successful career as a Registered Nurse, a calling that perfectly reflected her generous heart and natural instinct to care for others. Serving and supporting people, especially children, brought her great purpose and joy. Mary Jo had a rare gift for making others feel special, cared for, and deeply loved.

Her warmth, compassion, and unwavering kindness touched countless lives. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered—now and always—by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary Jo’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization that reflects her lifelong love and care for children.
