On Wednesday, April 10, 2013, McClellan A. "Guy" DuBois (Age 64) died at the Sunrise of Fair Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Fairfax, VA, after a nearly year-long battle with cancer. Mr. DuBois was the beloved husband of Lynn for 29 years and the devoted father of Megan and David. Guy was also survived by his sister, Ardythe Ball, of Marietta, Georgia.

In the position, he was the Director's focal point for issues related to export controls, industrial espionage, and foreign technology developments.

In 1990, Mr. DuBois was appointed Director of Operations and Tasking for the national imagery constellation where he managed day-to-day customer requirements for imagery support from the US classified systems. With the DCI's decision in 1995 to form the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA), he was selected as Deputy Director of the Customer Support Office.

Mr. DuBois held a BA in Economics from Washington & Jefferson College, an MA in Economics from Ohio University, and was a graduate of the Harvard University Seminar on National Security Policy. His awards included the DCI Citation for Management of Imagery Resources during the Gulf War, the NGA Distinguished Civilian Service Award, and the DCI Career Intelligence Medal.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I was a professional colleague of Guy’s many years ago at CIA and was saddened to hear of his passing. His enthusiastic dedication and leadership were truly inspirational, overshadowed only by his personal warmth. He made a real difference to the security of the nation. It was a privilege to know and serve with him.

  2. Lynn: My deepest condolences on the passing of Guy. I have many fond memories of working and traveling overseas with Guy. Many of these trips ended with shopping for gifts for our wives. I hope you are comforted by your memories and the knowledge that he is in a better place. My best you and the family. Pete Torres Raytheon

  3. As a classmate of Guy’s at W&J, I am shocked by this news. He will be remembered as the “captain” of our class in the turbulent ’60s, for his independent thinking, his usually correct analysis, his excellent communication and persuasion skills, his quietly aggressive leadership, his integrity and his downright good nature and friendliness. Love that man! Will miss that man! He was the “Uncommon Man!” Sympathies – Don and Joan Lightfoot

  4. I was shocked to hear of Guy’s passing. I worked for and with Guy at CIA for many years. He was a great analyst and intelligence profesional who demonstrated energy, superb dedication to his craft, the mission and getting difficult things done. He will be missed a great deal.

  5. Dear Lynn, A great way to know the real person is to compete with him/her in sports. Guy was a great person. Stay strong. Sue Torok

  6. Lynn, We just learned today of Guy’s sickness and his passing. We pray that you find comfort in your wonderful memories and abiding faith. We enjoyed playing tennis with the 2 of you and are so sorry to learn of his death.
