Michael Charles Condro

September 1, 1971 ~ June 24, 2023
Michael Charles Condro, born on September 1, 1971, in Fairfax, Virginia, passed away on June 24, 2023. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and remarkable achievements.
Mike was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend and cherished member of the community. He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Condro, their daughters Samantha and Julia Condro, his devoted parents, Charles and Carmela Condro, and his brother Matthew Condro. Mike’s presence in their lives will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever be held in their hearts.
Mike graduated from South Lakes High School in Reston, VA in 1989 and went on to attend the College of William and Mary, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He was a successful CPA and Partner with Deloitte, where he had an exceptional 30 year career. He served in various capacities, including Lead Client Service Partner and the US Aerospace and Defense Audit & Assurance Leader. He played a vital role in identifying key industry issues, setting Deloitte’s industry eminence agenda and prioritizing investment for service offerings. His meticulous attention to detail and financial acumen made him a trusted advisor to many organizations.
Mike also had a tremendous impact in his local community. He served on the Board of Directors of the Phillips Programs for Children & Families, the Northern Virginia Technology Council, and the College of William and Mary Accounting Programs Board. Through his involvement with these organizations, he made a significant contribution to education and the advancement of accounting programs.
Outside of his professional life, Mike loved good food, good wine and travel, especially with Jennifer and his daughters. They traveled extensively and loved exploring the globe. He was an avid golfer (and a very good one) who relished the challenge of the sport and cherished the camaraderie he shared on the course with clients, family and friends. Mike had a passion for all sports, but especially loved to follow his favorite teams- the Boston Red Sox and the Washington Commanders.
The loss of Michael Charles Condro will be deeply felt by all those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his profession, and his zest for life. May his memory inspire us to live with passion, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to our loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to either the Phillips Programs for Children and Families (www.phillipsprograms.org) or The First Tee (www.firsttee.org/donate), two causes close to his heart. These organizations represent the values that Mike held dear—supporting children’s education and fostering character development through sports.
A celebration of life will be held at the International Country Club in Fairfax, Virginia on July 17 at 2 p.m., with reception immediately following.

On behalf of the NVTC Board of Directors, we are so sad that we lost our beloved fellow NVTC Board member and friend, Mike.
Mike served on the NVTC Board of Directors since 2019, and as Treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee since 2020. He helped NVTC shift to an accrual-based accounting system, implement accounting best practices, and complete three annual financial audits. His guidance contributed to NVTC’s financial health during the global pandemic, ensuring NVTC’s long-term viability.
We all enjoyed our time working with Mike and hearing about his love of golf. We will never forget his dedication in advancing the Northern Virginia Tech Council. But most of all, his wit and his smiling face on Zoom meetings always wearing the sweatshirt of his beloved home football team, the Commanders.
We extend our heartfelt sympathies to Jennifer, Samantha, and Julia, who are in our thoughts and prayers. Mike will be greatly missed.
With our sincerest condolences,
Jennifer Taylor, President and CEO, NVTC
Greg Baroni, NVTC Chair and Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Attain Enterprises
Bruce Caswell, Incoming NVTC Chair and President and CEO of Maximus
I am incredibly saddened by this news. Mike and I met while I was consulting at one of his clients. He was managing the Deloitte team prior to becoming partner. We became instant friends and had several lunches and dinners when we found ourselves in near locations. I am 77 and Mike was my son’s age. I will miss you a ton, old friend.

I went to high school with Mike and Jen and knew him to just be a most genuine and gracious person with a good sense of humor. We had good memories in class together…I’m speechless

His Leadership in Greater Washington family (aka “Raising The Bar ‘19) will miss him dearly. I recall him as a quiet and gentle soul in our group, with a quiet strength about him. I’m sure he showed his more fun loving side to his small group. This is a see you later friend.

Our beloved Michael was our first born. He was born prematurely and was taken from us prematurely. We will miss being with him, talking on the phone with him and his regular sharing with us pictures of his current family experiences. He was so proud of his family. He practiced what he preached. He lived life to the fullest with Jen, Samantha and Julia at his side.
While he will no longer be with us in person, we will always carry him in our hearts, remember him in our mind and always talk about him with family and friends to keep his memory alive. We love you Michael.

I trained Mike at P20 Herndon for several sessions. He wowed me with his exceptional strength test, and always showed up ready for training and gave his best. He was so easy to train with good form and did not need to be cued at all! Surely it’s a delight to see Mike on my schedule. You’re deeply missed.
