Michael Francis O’Hara, 57, of Falls Church, VA, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, after a series of health issues. He was born in Washington, DC on May 6, 1969, to James and Kathleen O’Hara. Michael attended Gonzaga High School and graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in mathematics. He had a long career in data base administration working on varied government contracts in Florida, Washington DC and Virginia.

Michael was known for his bright mind, dry wit, keen observations, and generous heart. He was the family’s go-to person for all computer-related problems, connoisseur of the coolest and latest gadgets. Michael was an avid fan of The Lord of the Rings, and he proudly owned an original Rubik’s Cube, which he could solve in under two minutes. Michael was also a talented knitter who delighted friends and family with handmade blankets, hats, and socks. He was a kite enthusiast and, in his younger years, enjoyed skydiving.

Michael is survived by his wife Melissa, beloved son Keegan, mother Katie, sister Colleen O’Hara (Doug Mashkuri), brother Brian O’Hara (Michelle), nieces and nephews, and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his father James.

A memorial service will be held on Friday July 10th at noon at Money & King Funeral Home, 171 Maple Ave. W, Vienna VA 22180. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Doctors Without Borders.
