On July 18th, 2024, Minoo Kashef passed away peacefully in Fairfax, Virginia after a 5-year journey with Alzheimer’s disease. Minoo was born to Golam Hosuin Kashef and Mhavash Goeie on February 7th, 1939 in Tehran, Iran where she graduated from College of Excellence Shemroon with a Masters in Child Psychology. The daughter of a Senator and house wife, Minoo was a childcare educator and pianist for over 30 years devoting her craft to building the next generation of musicians. She also served as the Lead Inspector of the Iranian Customs Office where she led a team of security professionals who enforced laws and regulations for people and goods entering and exiting Tehran which at that time was a major achievement for a woman to hold that title. She was a fierce protector of her family and moved through life with determination. She met the love of her life later in life, Benjamin Ralph Pasquale, who preceded her in death. Beginning a loving partnership, they were the definition of true love and loyalty where they shared the passion of food, music and family. Minoo’s wit was unmatched and she embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, ferocious loyalty and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care of children and countless others. That generosity of spirit, love, and unwavering dedication to her children was evident in every aspect of her life. As the years passed and her family grew, she relished her new role as a grandmother and great grandmother. She was immensely proud of each of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Mojgan Taheri, Mahasti Delisle, Nader Taheri and Fazi Tehrani, grandchildren, Delaram Minaie, Hanieh Moussavian, Ghazal Tehrani Moore, Parees Tehrani Ghanbari as well as great grandchildren Kayla Neihoff, Ayden Abdel, Ella Moore, Liam Moore and Zayd Abdel. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed. Minoo struggled the past few years with Dementia, friends wishing to honor her are invited to make a donation in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to their local children’s hospitals, childcare centers, and motherhood organizations.
A celebration of Minoo’s life will take place at 11 AM on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Money & King Funeral Home, 171 Maple Avenue West, Vienna, Virginia 22180.
