Of Vienna, VA passed away peacefully on August 6, 2018 surrounded by her loving children at her home in Vienna She was the wife of the late Col Michael S. Alba, USAF; mother of Mary Beth Chavez (Jeremy) of Las Vegas, NV, Stephanie Bowman (Martin) of Canton, GA and Christopher Alba (Tara) of Fairfax, VA. She is also survived by her brothers James Hauck of Waukesha, WI,Stephen Hauck of Madison, Wisconsin and ten grandchildren, Santiago and Grace Chavez,; Chase, Victoria, Ryan and Reid Bowman, and Olivia, James, Alexandra and Georgia May Alba.

The second of five children, Nancy was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 11, 1939. While raising her own three children, she spent her career in Laboratory Medicine working as a Microbiologist,and managed many hematologists and biologists at Lab Corp for 20 years. She was a graduate of Mount Mary College, run by the sisters of Notre Dame, earning a BS degree in Biology and Chemistry and was in graduate school at the University of Wisconsin, Madison when she met the love of her life, Michael S. Alba, whom she married 9 months later. Michael and Nancy were separated only by death, within 7 months of each other, after 54 years of marriage.

A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 8601 Wolftrap Rd., Vienna, VA on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 10:30 AM. The Interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery following at 1 pm. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to “The Little Sisters of the Poor”, 1503 Michael Road, Richmond, Virginia 23229 Online condolences and fond memories may be offered to the family at: www.moneyandking.com.
