Nancy Marie Romagnoli
July 10, 1937 ~ September 24, 2025
Nancy Marie Romagnoli, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born on July 10, 1937, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Nancy was the daughter of John Pasquale Nardella and Frances Rose (Grillo) Nardella. She graduated from Altoona Catholic High School in 1955 and went on to earn her nursing degree from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.
In 1959, Nancy married Jules Romagnoli, and together they raised four children: Joseph (Heather), Juliann Headley (Todd), Andrea Volin (Michael), and Nicole Lowery (Dennis). Her family grew to include 10 grandchildren—Peter Romagnoli (Samantha), Nicolas Romagnoli, Michelle Romagnoli Banks (Chris), Kyle Headley, Callie Headley, Benjamin Headley (Caroline), Samuel Volin, Natalie Volin Gregorian (Alex), Vincent Lowery, and Jessica Lowery—and four great-grandchildren: Isabella Banks, Andrew Banks, Amelia Romagnoli, and Wesley Gregorian.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Nardella, and her son-in-law Andrew Volin.
A devoted nurse, Nancy spent much of her career caring for others. She worked in the Intensive Care Department at Fairfax Hospital, served patients at Veterans Hospitals in Pennsylvania and New York, and from 1974 to 1976 held a unique role as an Embassy nurse in Taipei, Taiwan. Later, she embarked on a second career as a successful real estate agent in Northern Virginia, where she worked for more than 30 years. Known for her sharp eye for value and love of negotiation, she built a reputation as both skilled and trusted.
Nancy made her home in the Vienna/Oakton area since 1966, where she cultivated lasting friendships and community ties. She found great joy in cooking for family and friends, and cherished time spent at the family beach house, which remained one of her favorite retreats.
Nancy will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and generosity. She leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and resilience that will live on through her family and all who knew her.
