Nicholas Joseph Zavolta
January 12, 1927 ~ July 10, 2019
Nicholas J. Zavolta of Falls Church, VA, died peacefully with family on Wednesday July 10, 2019, at the age of 92.
He was the son of the late Pasquale and Marie Zavolta and preceded in death by his son Charles. He is survived by his beloved wife , Elizabeth (Betty) two daughters Susan Zavolta and Sandy Evalenko (Doug); four grandchildren Allison Castillo (Cisco), Joshua Zavolta, Andrew Zavolta (Kate), and Stephen Evalenko; one great grand daughter Lily; and his brother Ralph Zavolta (Ruth).
Nick was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and married Betty while serving in the US Army in the Korean War. He was a tariff compiler working in Transportation for the DoD and the American Trucking Association. Nick moved his family to Falls church, VA, in 1965. Nick was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a friendly, kind neighbor who was always willing to help others. They were both surrounded by friends and family.
