O’Niel L Sween, 90, of Vienna, VA, passed away on February 14, 2026.
Niel was born on June 27, 1935 to Niel and Evelyn in Minneapolis. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1953, Niel went on to study Economics at Dartmouth College Masters in German at Middlebury Language School and a Masters in Intl Relations at American University.
After graduation, Niel joined the army and was stationed in Germany for 4 years.
In 1962, Niel met Anne, and they wed on June 20, 1964, going on to have 3 children, Kevin, Karen, and David.
Niel enjoyed swimming competitively, traveling, spending time with family, making people laugh and reading.
Niel is survived by his wife, 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
The viewing is scheduled for 1pm and the celebration of his life at 2pm on February 28, 2026 at Money and King located at 171 Maple Ave W, Vienna, VA 22180

I am so saddened to hear about Neil. We used to work out together at Providence Rec Center. As competitive as Neil was, we almost gave each other heart attacks trying to outdo each other. Neil was a great friend. I lost track of him after COVID but found him in Iliff Healthcare when my wife was there. Neil was always quick with a laugh and a joke. I will miss him a lot. My condolences to Anne and the entire Sween family.
