Blessed to have your mom in my life always showering me with love and joy ❤️
Patricia E Moreno
February 1, 1945 ~ June 2, 2026
Patricia “Tish” Moreno lived a life marked by resilience, warmth, and an openness to the world around her. During her almost 20 years as a Foreign Service spouse, she lived in Laos, Spain, Burma, and Japan and traveled extensively, embracing every opportunity to experience new places, learn about different cultures, and form friendships around the world. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome and valued.
When a new chapter in life began, Tish embraced the challenge with determination and grace, building a successful career of her own. She began working in the church office at Holy Comforter before serving as an executive assistant for a local attorney. She later spent many years at George Mason University, first with the Dean of Academic Affairs at the School of Law and later with the Vice Provost of Academic Affairs, before retiring. She especially enjoyed the relationships she built with students and colleagues, whose friendships enriched her life. A proud Mason Patriot, she loved attending basketball games and enthusiastically cheering on the team.
Tish also had a deep love for dogs, especially her golden retrievers, Beau and Henry, and her “granddogs,” Molson, Casper, and Oakley, who brought her great joy and companionship.
Above all else, Tish’s greatest joy was her family. In her retirement years, her grandchildren became the center of her world. She delighted in their accomplishments, treasured time spent with them, and never missed a chance to celebrate and be with the people she loved most. Whether she was traveling the world, supporting her favorite basketball team and her granddaughter’s sports teams, or gathering with family and friends, Tish brought kindness, warmth, and a genuine interest in others that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Tish was preceded in death by her parents, Dolly and George Douglas, and her precious grandson, Evan Arnold, whom she carried in her heart always.
She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Lisa Arnold, and son-in-law, F. Scott Arnold; her beloved granddaughters, Kaitlin and Emma Arnold, who brought her endless joy and were the light of her life; her beloved sister, Elaine Curtin, and brother-in-law, Jeremy Curtin; her nieces, Alexandra Curtin and Antonia Curtin Schaefer; as well as a wide circle of friends, neighbors, and loved ones around the world who will miss her warmth, kindness, and friendship.
