To the family of Pete Moore, I had the privledge of working for and serving with Pete – as LTC Moore – many years ago. It was an honor to have worked with him. His loyalty and sense of duty was contagious and he earned the respect of his fellow soldiers. May God be with you at this time. With Sympathy, Sherry O’Rourke
I had the honor to work for Peter for 3 years at IYD. He was always an honorable and fair man. He never complained during the year he was fighting cancer. We had many good laughs and he shared his pictures from when he served in the military. He is one of my heros and I know he is praising the Lord in heaven. I will keep praying for your family as I know this is a very hard time for you. Peter will be missed.
My heartfelt sympathy for the family. I am thinking of you and praying for you at this difficult time. Margaret D. Johnson
I will always remember my friend and colleague of many years. Peter was the most intelligent person I have ever known and I miss him dearly. Rest in peace, my friend.
I so much enjoyed knowing Peter over the last few years, he was very unique and interesting. I’ll never forget our discussions about many things. I thank God that he did not have to suffer long and that now he is at peace. I have no doubt that we will meet again, and Peter will be happy and healthy. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Peter’s family.
We know what this great loss means to your entire family. We all enjoyed our conversations with Peter and we only remember good things about our association. Please accept our sincerest condolences.
Dear Moore Family. I was shocked when I saw Peter’s death notice in Wednesday’s Washington Post. I had no idea that he was sick. Peter and I served together in the 11th Special Forces Group and later in the Civil Affairs Command and kept in touch with each other over the years. He was such a brilliant man and we had many email discussions about his latest findings as a Shakespearian scholar. I contacted many of our old Special Forces and Civil Affairs colleagues about his passing and they were as shocked as I was; they all send, through me, their condolences to the family and his many friends. May he rest in peace.
Pete was my friend and comrade in arms — a good friend and a truly professional soldier.
Pete, I know you’re reading this. I guess you got your wings again. Hope you finally got that Shakespeare thing settled, now that you can talk to the principals. Say hello to Nick and the Dog Doc for me, and tell Nick I expect it to be “all laid on” when I join you. Bruce PS: Ivan says to expect a coin challenge as soon as he sees you. No excuses.
Farewell to a good friend and a fine soldier. It was an honor to serve with him.
On behalf of the soldiers and officers of the 450th Civil Affairs Bn, I wish to offfer our heartfelt prayers and condolences to the family of LTC Peter Moore. Goodspeed LTC Moore, we’ll see you on the high ground!
