He invested in real estate in Northern Virginia and co-founded three banks, the last being Chain Bridge Bank in McLean. He was a member of the Society of Cincinnati and known for his mischievous sense of humor, Harley Davidson shirts and his annual Potomac River Walk which was followed by the firing of one of his two cannons. He participated in Washington’s Rolling Thunder motorcycle event every year in honor of those who served in the Viet Nam War.
