In Loving Memory of Phyllis Ann O’Shaughnessy
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Phyllis Ann O’Shaughnesssy, who left this world on January 27, 2024 and was surrounded by her loving family as she peacefully passed.
Born on March 1, 1932, Phyllis graced this world with her radiant presence for 91 years. She was a remarkable woman, known for her unwavering strength, personality and dedication to enjoying life!
Phyllis was a devoted wife to her late husband John James O’Shaughnessy, Jr., and their love story served as an inspiration to all. Together they produced 4 children, John James O’Shaughnessy, III, Siobhan O’Shaughnessy, Gael Francis O’Shaughnessy and Mavis O’Neill.
In addition to her role as a loving wife and mother, Phyllis was a cherished friend and resulted in many life-long friendships. Her genuine compassion and ability to connect with others on a deep level made her an invaluable presence. She served as a Realtor in Virginia and frequently volunteered for election/voting services.
Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to live on through her children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren; Brittany Rose Phan, Michael Thomas O’Neill Jr., Kristin Green and Erin Chahine, and great grandchildren; Jett, Journey, Christian, Carter, Charlotte, Chloe and Blair, as well as all those whose lives she touched. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find solace in knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved husband.
A Wake service to honor and celebrate the remarkable life of Phyllis will be held at Money and King Funeral Home in Vienna VA on Monday, February 5, 2023 5:00-8:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to join us in bidding her farewell. A funeral Mass and interment will be held in Yonkers, New York at a later date where she will be laid to rest with her husband.

I only met Phyllis once or twice, but she made a strong impression on me. She seemed like a fun-loving, no-nonsense person, not afraid to share her truths and a pillar of strength. A woman very much loved and greatly admired. My condolences to the entire O’Shaughnesssy family.
