  1. I am so sorry you must suffer the pain of Penny’s death. I am sending this in lieu of being at the service, for I am sporting a drippy cold and know to keep those germs to myself. God be with you all. Love, Ginny

  2. Im so sorry to hear of Penny’s death. I have such fond memories of her and your family at Cacapon. My thoughts and prayers are with you Cecil, CJ, Andy and Nancy. With love, Gwen (Johnson ) and family.

  3. Dear Townsend Family, It is with continued sympathy on Penny’s passing that I send my condolences to you all. Susan Clark

  4. Cec, (young) Cecil, Andy and Nancy: We were so saddened to learn of Penny’s death, but were heartened by your comforting of each other at the service you held. We have such good memories of you all as neighbors, our visit to Princeton, your new digs in Vienna. Penny was a loving force to be reckoned with and a treasure to remember.
