Formerly of Vienna, Va., passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at his home. Beloved husband of Marilyn L. Register; father of Debbie Dotson, Ray and Donna (Ryder) Register II and the late Nancy Prothro (who predeceased him in December 1986); son of the late Robert and Lucy Register; brother of Anne Medice of Broken Arrow, OK and the late Robert L. Register; grandfather of Ray Register III, Chris Dotson, Kelly (Register) and Eric Fitzpatrick, Daniel Prothro, Rick Register and Emaleigh (Dotson) and Jim Freeman. Also survived by six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Money & King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, Va., on Monday, June 1 from 7-9 PM., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 2 at 1:00 PM. Interment Private. A reception will follow at the Elks Lodge, 8421 Arlington Blvd., Fairfax, Va at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association.

  7. Ray was a good friend and an excellent construction superintendent. He oversaw some tough projects for The George Hyman Construction Company, later The Clark Construction Company, not only in Washington, DC, but also in Atlanta and Miami. He never failed to accomplish what he set out to do. Our thoughts & prayers are with your family.

  12. My sympathy goes to Ray’s wife and family. I was GSA’s construction engineer for the Lister Hill building in Bethesda and Ray was the superintendent. We worked together for 2 1/2 years. Ray was very knowledgeable. WE had a good relationship. So sorry to here of his passing.
