Janet–you remain in my thoughts and prayers! Ray was such a joy to know! But your comfort comes in knowing that death is not the end. Those who die in Christ will live eternally! 1 Corinthians 15:54, 57
Rest In Peace, Cousin Raymond. May your family and loved ones cherish their love and fond memories of you. Amy
Ray, I will miss your visits to STL and talking hockey and baseball with you. God bless you and your family.
One of the most humble people you could ever meet. A perfect gentleman, warm, charming and very poised, I will never forget how you took a stance in helping employees at SSA. You truly impacted my life and I will cling to your efforts and hard work you displayed always. You are one of a kind and a diamond in the rough. May You Rest In Peace and Enjoy Your Rewards

It was my honor and privilege to work with Ray. He was a devoted public servant who always gave his best. More importantly, he was a wonderful human being to all and will be greatly missed.

Ray was very charming and his light stood out when he entered a room. He also had a hand in the start of my career at SSA and for that I am forever grateful. I pray for strength and peace for Ray’s family.
My prayers are with you all. May you know that God is close the broken-hearted and will comfort you as only He can during this time. I am grateful for the many years I knew Ray and was able to work under his leadership. He was a very caring person and encouraged my professional development. He will be greatly missed. Jan, you are in my prayers!

My prayers and thoughts are with all of Ray’s family. Ray was a great mentor and leader to all of us in management at the National Hearing Centers. His loss is irreplaceable, but we are left with great memories and lucky to have had him in our lives. Ray’s imprint will be forever lasting in our hearts.

Ray was certainly one of a kind. I consider myself the luckiest person for having worked with him for nine years. I learned a lot from him, mostly about life. My sincere sympathy and condolences to Janet and the entire family. Your loss is tremendous and we grieve with you. God bless him!
Ray’s family ~ I wish you peace and blessing during this time of healing. The SSA family has lost a gentle giant who was a true leader that motivated and mentored many. Ray always supported our training event especially those that provided guidance and development. I was so thankful for him and the time he gave. I will miss Ray and his kindness. May God embrace and comfort you as pops of memories fill your hearts ~ Aretha Shedrick
Dear Meisels Family:
Ray was a tremendous leader for the National Hearing Center. As a judge with the NHC in Albuquerque for 9 years he has been our director, I valued his leadership. I recall my last conversation with him and his words of encouragement and mentorship to me as Acting Chief Judge for our office. Great man! He will be missed.
Peace to your entire family as you process his loss.
Best regards,
Deborah Jacobson Van Vleck
My thoughts and prayers are with Ray’s family. He was a shining light to many of us in SSA. He was a kind, thoughtful, and brilliant problem solver, and he is already missed. May God grant peace and comfort to his family and may you find solace in your good memories together.

God bless you and your family. Ray was a great friend and an amazing neighbor. You are in our prayers and we are always here if you need anything. With love, Kate, Scott, and Maggie xoxo
Ray undoubtedly is among the best of the best. I have enjoyed my relatively short time I spent in his presence; what a role model. I will miss him. Our prayer is that his family and friends find strength in this pain we feel. David Smith
I was not prepared for how much this would hurt, so my focus has been on all the good memories of Ray over the 40 plus years I have know him – the golf and golf stories, work discussions, family discussions and frankly just being in his presence. Peace, my friend; keep it in the “short grass” and may all your golf shots now be like the Ace you were. Ralph Smith
Dear Ray,
I am so blessed to call you our friend. Thank you for being at our wedding- I appreciate you and your wife so much. Thank you and your wife for being my daughter’s emergency contact when she was @ Howard. Thank you for your professional guidance and advice-you taught me so much. I am so blessed to have had you as my mentor here @SSA. Thank you for being my MLB/NFL (fan) coach, advising me to be a proud New Yorker, not letting my hubby (Cowboys/Orioles fan) convert me-ha! never Ray-I promise. And thank you for teaching me some football/baseball trash talk! GOOO GIANTS! GOOO YANKEES! ALWAYS- Love, Ruthie “Ruththetruth” and Shawn
Ray was a remarkable leader and touched the lives of so many at SSA. May peace and comfort find you during this difficult time.

A candle was lit for the decedent.
Dear Meredith, Melissa, and Michael,
I am so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. I have sweet memories of he and your Mom dating, and those Ruyack Boys ribbing him which he took all in stride. Of course there are the great times from the family reunion in Myrtle Beach. I remember him as: quiet, thoughtful, good natured, and very smart. I also felt a kinship with him for obvious reasons. Lisa remembers Uncle Raymond as well and send her condolences.
With Love,
Aunt Alice, Lisa, and David
To the Meisels Family, it saddens my heart to learn of Ray’s homegoing. Indeed, I will fondly remember him taking the time to mentor me over lunch and the kind and gentle smile he always seemed to display over the eight plus years we worked together at the Falls Church, Virginia NHC. I think you already know Ray was an extraordinarily kind and just man. May The Lord be kind to and have mercy on his soul. Deepest sympathy, Joseph L. Brinkley
My heart is so broken for all of you. Of all the people I have met in my life Ray was the nicest, kindest gentleman. May his influence on his children be passed on. And Janet your love for each other was so obvious!
With love and sadness, Nancy Gagnon and Ken Dement
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I will always have fond memories of Ray. Over the years Ray and I have shared stories regarding our families, spiritual beliefs and work experiences. I believe he left everlasting memories with every life he touched during his journey here on earth. May God Bless the Family.
Ray was a gentleman, good coach, and great friend. 8 years ago, he and his golf threesome adopted me into their group. It’s been 8 years of Saturday morning rounds, many starting with Ray checking in with Janet (hi, doll, ….) before the first tee. We have missed Ray these past several months; the game simply isn’t as fun without him. One comfort is that Ray scored a hole-in-one during his last few months of play. While from a golfer’s perspective that’s a good way to end the game, his passing was far too early.
Ray, thank you for your guidance, kindness and sincere desire to want me to succeed. It was an honor and a great privilege to be your mentee. I will always treasure your guidance and gr8 laugh and save it in memory forever. We loved you, but God loved you more. May you Rest In Peace. Louisah
