Passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 with his family present after a long illness. Born in Washington, DC, he graduated from Wake Forest University and retired from the Department of Defense after 35 years of dedicated service. He leaves us with the cherished memories of his hard work, sense of humor, devotion to his family and love of the outdoors. Beloved husband of Peggy Day; loving father of Katie Leggett, Karen Langer and son-in-law, Mark Langer; grandfather of Matthew, Ashley, Corey, Curtis, Patrick and Ella; loving brother to Lynn Feller and uncle to Shannon and Cameron. The family will receive friends at St. Veronica Catholic Church, 3460 Centreville Road, Chantilly, VA on Monday, June 20 beginning at 10 a.m. where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.

  8. Rick was one of the first office Deputy Directors I had the opportunity to direclty work with at DIA. He was very pleasant and a great asset to our office. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
