Robert “Buzz” Emmett Payne, age 87, of Fairfax, Va. passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 20, 2023.
He was born in Washington, D.C., January 17, 1936 to Richard and Anne Payne. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard; his daughter Theresa L. Payne; granddaughter Georgina Ann Burley-Brady, and great grandson Nicholas Brady. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Carolyn W. Payne, his daughter Julie Roesle (Dennis); grandson Ryan Simms, great grandchildren, Christopher Brady, Nichole Brady, Jaxson Simms, Rylan Simms, and Ava Simms.
Buzz will be remembered as a devoted husband, and a Dad who so loved his daughters. By others, his open smile to all, gentleness, friendships, kindness, and willingness to assist others. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were held on April 1, 2023 at Great Falls United Methodist Church, 10100 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls, Va.
