Mr. Robert Eugene Thompson

Robert Eugene Thompson died on August 16th, 2024, at the age of 92. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lea Thompson, three of his four children: Bryce Thompson, Amy Briggs, and Lea Ann Smith, and his four grandchildren. His oldest son, Robert Eugene Thompson, Jr. passed away February 21, 2019 in Frederick County, MD.
Betty and Robert were married August 9, 1952 while Robert was in the U.S. Navy’s Aviation Electronics Technician Class A school near Memphis, Tennessee. While they were stationed at the Patuxent River Naval Air Test Center in Maryland, their two sons were born. Then, while Robert attended the University of Oklahoma, they were blessed with two daughters.
He was a good husband and a wonderful father and grandfather (“Papa”). He was proud to have worked for many years at a non-profit organization. He was a successful electrical and systems engineer there. He was also an accomplished Genealogist and author of a genealogical index for his beloved hometown of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
He spent his final years at Sunrise in Oakton, made many new friends there, and was loved by the staff. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

No viewing or services are to be provided by Money and King. Robert will be cremated by Money and King and his remains will be interred at Arlington National Cemetary at a later date.
