Of McLean, VA, beloved husband of Carol Ann Phelps, died January 7, 2012 after a valiant six year battle with cancer.

Bob was happy and friendly, with great integrity and a sharp sense of humor. A man who never spoke ill of anyone, his innate goodness enriched the lives of all who knew him.

  1. We are truly going to miss our dear friend, his smile & contagious laugh. Bob fought long & hard, this dreadful disease cancer, continuing to do his walking at the mall, going places with his dear Carol Ann & even keep up with the High School Reunion Committee for 56 years!   2. One by one, the Wakefield Class of 1956 and suffered another loss; this time a loss of a man who went out of his way to be friendly. He will be greatly missed by all who have known him for these many years.

  4. Always a true friend. I have been privileged to have known him for 62 years. Never heard him say a bad word to or about anyone. A true gentleman. He added greatly to the fabric of my life and i will always be grateful that he considered me a friend.

  7. My husband and I vacationed with Bob and Carol Ann and her parents many years ago and it was delightful to reconnect with them in recent years. He was a loving husband and caring friend and will be missed.

  10. Every time I think of Bob I thank my God for bringing him into my life. Bob taught me to always look for the best in a person and to have a joyful heart. Bob was a kind and affectionate person and he will be sorely missed. One thing that I loved about Bob was how he always referred to Carol as his bride which indicated to me how much he loved her. Bob you will be missed but I know that you are at rest with my Heaven Father.
