Robert Rogers

Robert A Rogers passed away on Sept 11 from Alzheimer’s disease. He was 89 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen, his daughter Caroline Massey and his granddaughter Olivia Massey and her husband Thomas Norris. His son Robert J Rogers predeceased him.
He earned a degree in engineering from John’s Hopkins University and received a masters degree from Trinity College.
His career was in aeronautical engineering. He had a passion for flying both powered planes and sailplanes and served in the Civil Air Patrol.
He volunteered with and served on the board of directors of The Shepard ‘s Center of Northern Virginia. He also volunteered with the American Red Cross.
Travel was another passion which he shared with his wife.
A Celebration of his life will take place at the Tyson’s Corner Maggiano’s on October 3, 2026 from 1-3:00 PM
