Our wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Rosie Coccia Betts of Reston, VA (formerly of McLean and Stafford, VA) passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015 amongst family. Rosie was born August 2, 1926 in Wash, DC. Married in 1947 to her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, CMDR Martin Burke Betts, she began her life as the wife of a career Navy officer, raising their three children alone during his many deployments. Later she enjoyed selling Avon for over 20 years as one of their top producers in the Mclean area. Martin preceded her in death in 2008. Also preceding her were a brother and three sisters. Rosie touched all she met and cared deeply for her many friends. She was the heart of her family and the life of every party. Her warm, happy, fun loving spirit was welcoming and endearing. She is survived by two daughters, Millie Betts of Potomac Falls, VA, and Micki Moravitz (Vic) of Reston, VA and her son Marty Betts (Carolyn) of Charlottesville, VA, and seven grandchildren; Marty Betts, III (Megan), Christine Betts, Marco Filippini, Matt Betts, Madeline Moravitz, Jay Moravitz and Nicole Moravitz and three great grandchildren, Xander Filippini, Holly Betts and Jackson Betts. A memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, Oct 7, 2015 at Noon at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Reston. The Rosary will be prayed for Rosie at 11:30am. Family will welcome friends at a reception there immediately afterwards. Internment next to her husband at Arlington National Cemetery will be at a later date.
