Salvatore (Sally G) Guardino (Age 83)



Salvatore (Sal) N. Guardino of Vienna, VA died on the evening of November 9, 2016. He was born on March 3, 1933 in Bronx, NY. As a member of the United States Army, Sal proudly served his country in the Korean War. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Elks Club-Fairfax, Catholic War Veterans, and the American Legion Post 180. As the owner of a building contracting company in the Washington DC metro area, Sal developed several projects for the Veterans Association Hospital and the Washington, DC government. He lived life to the fullest, and touched the hearts of many. Sal is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years Anita, daughter Andrea Guardino of Santa Monica, CA, and son Tory Guardino and his partner Amy Long of Vienna, VA. Sal is also survived by his sister Beatrice Cooper, nephew Peter Cooper and wife Terry, and niece Donna DeRaffele and husband Phil of New Rochelle, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Maria Guardino and his daughter-in-law Julie Doyel Guardino. The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 15, 2016 for a viewing from 6-8pm and at the funeral service at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, both will be held at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave, Vienna, VA.

  4. My condolences to Anita and the Guardino family. I remember working as a salesman with Sal in 1964 at Washington Aluminum. Then we both started our own construction companies. We have remained in contact over the last 50 years. He was a very good friend. Sal will truly be missed.
