Sheryl was a most consistent person. She always maintainted her calm and sweet attitude. While working with her in the early years, at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, we would be stressed to the nines, yet Sheryl would come by and calmly assist us with a simple solution. Later, Sheryl, refreshed her nursing career at “the big house” Fairfax hospital. There she began career of giving of herself to all the patients and other nurses she encountered. In no time she was well known not only in her department but by so many that she was chosen “Nurse of the Year” A deserving title for one who was selfless in her care of the sick. My friendship with Sherly extends back to her tennis years and time at the ICC in Fairfax. We had a few heartfelt visits near the end of her struggle. She was special to me. Lynne
I remember Sheryl as a kind and friendly woman. She had a gentle grace that really stood out. I have a few very nice memories of her to share. First was when my Father had his first heart surgery. Sheryl stayed with us in the hospital for hours, giving support and advice. She really made the whole traumatic experience a little easier to take. The other was much more pleasant, Sheryl and Doug came out to watch my daughter ride in a horse trial. They both seemed to enjoy that so much! It was terrific to see them there enjoying themselves. I hope your memories of her will be of some comfort to family and dear friends.
