Sreyneang "Srey" Chhor

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Srey, who left us on June 28, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 15, 1979, in the vibrant city of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Srey brought light and joy into the world and touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Srey was the cherished daughter of the late Tryhout Chhor and Kit Saroen. She carried forward the legacy of her parents with grace and determination, stepping into a nurturing role at a young age to help run the family business. Her dedication and passion were evident in every endeavor she undertook, whether as a store associate in her early years or during her nearly two-decade tenure as a server at Marriott. Even while battling illness, she managed to balance roles at both Marriott and Whole Foods, embodying the spirit of resilience and hard work.

In 2009, Srey found her soulmate in Michael, and together they built a life filled with love and joy in their South Riding home. Their union was blessed with a son, King, who was the apple of her eye. Srey’s family was the centerpiece of her life, and she was the embodiment of generosity and warmth, always ready with a helping hand or a comforting word.

Srey’s heart was a garden of kindness, much like the lush vegetable garden she lovingly tended. Her hands, always busy with arts and crafts, created beauty and brought smiles to those around her. Summers were marked by cherished beach trips, where the laughter of her family mingled with the sound of the waves—a true testament to the joy she found in simple pleasures.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael; her beloved son, King, cherished daughter, Megan; her caring sisters, Hon and Sopear; and her brother, Koung Ly. Though her parents have predeceased her, their spirit lives on through Srey’s enduring love and shared memories.

The family invites all who knew and loved Srey to join in a celebration of her life on July 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Money & King’s Funeral Home, located at 171 Maple Ave W, Vienna. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to their GoFundMe, reflecting Srey’s generous spirit and her desire to make the world a better place.

The family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of support and love for Srey. She would be overjoyed to see the gathering of everyone she held dear, united in remembrance of her beautiful soul.

Srey’s legacy of love, warmth, and unwavering generosity will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though our hearts are heavy with her loss, we find comfort in the memories and the light she leaves behind.
