Stephen Paul Darcey

Steve passed away unexpectantly of natural causes on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 while visiting his daughter and grandchildren in South Carolina. He was born on November 17, 1946 in Arlington, Va to Margaret Louise Wise Darcey and Paul Edward Darcey of Arlington, Va. Steve grew up in Vienna and attended James Madison High School graduating in 1964. He attended Dakota Wesleyan University. In 1966, he enlisted in the US Army. His assignments included a deployment to Vietnam and followed with an assignment at Fort Belvoir, Va. Steve was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1971 with the rank of SP5 (Sergeant). He was a Soldier and Patriot, never forgetting the service and sacrifices of all who fight, defend and honor this great country. After separation from service, Steve continued his career at Fort Belvoir as a DOD Civilian serving as Project Manager Specialist with PEO Enterprise Information Systems until his death. Steve was very proud od being a Virginia and his family's FFV heritage. He was a loyal fan of Washington Redskins Football and Nationals Baseball. He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Darcey Bray, her husband Phil Bray and two grandchildren Elliot and Makenzie Bray. His viewing will be held on Sunday, December 27th from 1-3:00 PM at Money & King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, Va. The family will have a private burial on Monday, In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to Vietnam Veterans of America at vva.org

My sincere condolences go out to the family. Steve will be greatly missed. I met him over 10 years ago and he hasn’t changed since day one. His sense of humor was always right on time.
