Susan Hitchcock-Lowe

Susan Hitchcock-Lowe of McLean, VA died November 15, 2013. She taught many early and recent McLean residents the history and art of early American decorations. She founded the Shenandoah Virginia Chapter of the National Historical Society of Early American Decorations, Inc. A long time ardent and loyal member of McLean Women's Club. Many of her works won "A" awards. Her talent included cutting of patterns and stencils necessary for reproducing original early American art and preserving their decorations and restorations of Hitchcock chairs, trays, chest and tole designs our ancestors created.
She is survived by her husband, Harvey S. Lowe, Jr.; her nephew, Mitchell Hirsch and his wife, Jane and their daughters, Abigail and Brooke of Virginia Beach, VA. Also Laurie Evans, Enid and Michele Fleckenstien.
Friends will be received from Monday, 7 to 9 pm at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA. Services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 6715 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA on Tuesday, November 19 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Leukemia Society of Virginia or Capital Caring in memory of her "Little Susan" whom she lost at the age of eight.
