Theresa Mary Ferrara

theresa ferrara

October 6, 1929 ~ December 30, 2023

Born in: Maspeth, New York
Resided in: Vienna, Virginia

We lost our beloved mother and grandmother, Theresa Ferrara, on December 30, 2023 at the age of 94. She lived a long, wonderful life overcoming many health challenges over the past few years. Her final moments were spent with her children and grandchildren by her bedside.

The words ‘loving’, ‘caring’, ‘’generous and ‘witty’ only begin to describe our mom’s extraordinary character. She navigated life’s twists and turns with a sense of humor that could lighten up the darkest moments. She was beautiful inside and out.

She was devout Catholic and devoted her time and efforts working with RCIA, EPS and starting and participating in multiple bible studies. She spent countless hours praying for others and their needs throughout the day. She was never without a list of people who needed prayer to guide them through whatever situation faced them. She was a true Prayer Warrior and we believe her devotion to praying for others is why she lived such a long life.

Our mom will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and our family asks that she be remembered for the kindness, joy and wit that she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. We are all better off for having known her. It was our great privilege to be called her children and grandchildren. She is survived by five children, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A viewing ceremony will be held on Friday, January 5th from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Money & King Funeral home. Her mass will be held on January 9th at 11 am ET at Our Lady Good Counsel (OLGC) with a reception at De Sales Hall following the Mass.

  1. What a beautiful soul. We didn’t see each other often, but her smile lit up the room. Always so sweet!🥰🥰🥰

  2. Rest in Peace, Aunt Theresa.
Glad we got to revisit our outing to see the Music Man on Broadway in the late 1950’s starring Bert Parks. We then ate at Trader Vic’s and you remembered what I ate! It was wonderful to have you as a role model of a modern woman with your accomplishments in the field of medicine, having achieved becoming a Nurse Anesthetist. Of course this was before having five children.
    Condolences to my cousins,

  3. In God’s hands. I have very fond memories of my godmother Aunt Theresa. I remember her taking me to NYC to see the Disney movie The Shaggy Dog. It was released in March 1959,I was 4 years old. The first wedding I attended was for Aunt Theresa and Uncle Rem. Many fond memories of my young cousins. My condolences to all of you on the loss of your mother.
