I was very sad to learn of Tom’s passing. A true gentleman, he served as both a mentor and an example of the kind of officer we all wanted to emulate. I feel sure that he departed life as he lived it, with a warm heart, a welcome smile and a quiet enduring dignity. He will be missed. My condolences to the family.
We were saddened to hear of Tom’s death. Our heartfelt condolences to Jane and his family. He will be in our prayers. Mary Sue and Dick Metrey
I share the loss of one of New Carrolllton’s finest. Tom was my “advisor” when I first decided to run for the city council in 1992. We also served together as officers of the Men’s Club. A finer person could not be found. His gentle demeaneor and sense of humor will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.
I am deeply saddened by this news, and I send my warmest regards and condolences to the family. “Mr. Posey” was one of the finest men I knew, and I consider myself lucky to have known him. Tom will be missed by many, and there are many of us who who were lead by him that will speak volumes about him for years to come. May he rest in peace.
Tom was one of the kindest and most gentle person’s I ever knew. He was a great leader who respected the worth of each individual, irregardless of what job they performed. He was a consummate gentleman, and I am truly blessed and thankful for the opportunity to have worked with him. My prayers and condolences to the family of this remarkable man.
Hi, Linda: I was so sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. I know he will be missed. My thoughts are with you at this time. Love, Sandra
We were saddened to learn of Tom’s passing. He was such a kind and gracious gentleman. I worked on Tom’s campaign for City Council and I later decided to run for office and Tom gave me all of his city papers which helped me a great deal. I ended up staying for sixteen years. My husband, of three years, is the former Public Works Director and remembers Tom as always being a wonderful city resident. Tom, when out walking, had a warm and friendly greeting for all of us. He will be missed.
I was 10 years old and living in Istanbul; my sister Dorothy was great friends with Merelene and Tom and I remember Linda and Tom Jnr as being very small. I was just remembering my time in Istanbul 1955-1957 and the Posey name popped into my memory!! best wishes to ther Posey family.
