With all of our sorrow, sympathy and love.
When we read about the death of someone it often brings us sadness. However, it is comforting to know of the promises in the Bible. One such promise is mentioned at Isaiah 26:19 that reads, “Your dead ones will live. . . . They will rise up.” Psalm 37:29 further states: “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.” Such promises are very comforting during this time. However, Revelation 21:3 & 4 states, “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
To Bonnie and family: My deepest sympathy to you. Tom was a great mentor to me early in my career; I am forever grateful. He will be missed by all. Pam Frazier
Dear Bonnie and family: We want to express our most heartfelt condolences…Tom was one of the great ones, and made such a big impact on our family and on so many others…
Dear Mrs. Weston, I am one of Tom’s many former colleagues who was touched by his wisdom, his common sense, and his warmth. Please accept my condolences.
I worked closely with Tom Weston on the Cyprus issue when I was DCM in Nicosia from 1999-2002. “Work closely” has many meanings in the Foreign Service. How special was he and how close did we become? Let me put it simply – we came to greet each other with a great bear-hug and gleaming smiles whenever he came to Cyprus. He gave me his full trust, confidence, and help. The warmth and support he brought made a real difference in my life. I will cherish his memory. Danny Russel
Dear Mrs. Weston and Family, I came to know Ambassador Weston through his great work not only in support of my country, Turkey, but also through his outstanding efforts to solve the Cyprus problem. Although we were not successful in solving the issue, I humbly think that together we wrote history. He was a great man of honor, distinction and wisdom. His friendship was very strong and very warm. May he rest in peace.
Dear Bonnie, Elizabeth and Laura – I am so sorry at your loss and wish you all the best during these trying times. I can only hope that it helps, in whatever modest way, for you all to know how much so many of us loved Tom and became better people thanks to our time with him. Marc Collins.
