October 17, 1938 – July 3, 2023
After a long struggle with multiple myeloma and Alzheimer’s disease, Tom passed away on July 3, 2023. He died peacefully at home.
He was born in Charleston, SC and always considered it home, no matter how long he had lived in the Washington area. He went to elementary and high school in Charleston, and attended Hampton University in Hampton, VA for two years. He then decided he would join the Army, where he served for four years. Upon his return to the US, he lived and worked in NJ as a communications engineer, at Jersey Central Power and Light, and in 1973, he met Linda. They got married in 1975, and moved to the Washington area, in 1980, where he worked for the Federal Government from 1980 until 2007. He was a certified private pilot, and also enjoyed scuba diving, photography, and was a ham radio operator. He and Linda loved traveling, and visited many lovely places throughout the world.
He lived a full and happy life.
