Verne V. Wattawa, of Herndon, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025. Born in San Diego, California, on September 6, 1941, Verne lived a life defined by service, integrity, and love for family.

A proud graduate of San Diego State University, Verne went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.  He served in the Department of State with the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency (ACDA) as Executive Director of the U.S. Delegation at Disarmament Talks in Geneva.  Subsequently, he spent several years with SAIC.  His career was a source of great pride and lifelong camaraderie.
