Verners E. Svalbe

Verners E. Svalbe, 79, of Great Falls, Va., died on December 15, 2012 at Reston Hospital Center. He was born on December 23, 1932 in Latvia to the late Edvards and Trina Zirnitis Svalbe. Verners was a 1956 graduate of Columbia University, New York, NY. He was the owner of Verner Svalbe Associates, AIA, where he was an architect designing residential and commercial buildings. Verners was a member of the American Institute of Architects, American Latvian Association, Fraternity Lettgallia, Daugavas Vanagi and a member of the Latvian Lutheran Church, which he designed. Verners was the beloved husband of 53 years of Solveiga Svalbe, loving brother of Janis Svalbe of Palmdale, CA, Mirdza Cinis of Tappan, NY, brother-in-law to Charlagne Svalbe, Nikoleta and Arnis Kuplins. Also survived by four nephews and two neices. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Latvian Lutheran Church.
