Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I have many fond memories of my Aunt Virginia from my youth. My heartfelt sympathy to the entire family. May she rest in peace.

  2. I have memories of Virginia as my dad’s (Andrew Farley, Jr.) first cousin. She was my grandmother’s (Nannie) niece and Nannie was always thrilled when her sister, Gena, would come from Maryland to Danville, Virginia for a visit. There are many pictures in photo albums of Daddy and his cousins, Virginia, Evelyn and Walter, Jr. There are also some family stories of the mischief that these cousins would get into when they were all together. One story that stands out is about throwing a cat out of a window to see if cats really do always land on their feet. And, there are many others. May special memories abound during this time of grief and sadness..my thoughts and prayers go out to all of you at this time, Beth

  3. Aunt Virginia was a very kind presence who was always a lady. There are many memories of Aunt Virginia, but the weeks she took me in to her home during 10th grade are some of the most special to me. We moved back to Fairfax during the school year, and my parents were driving across country. I flew back and stayed in Vienna with Aunt Virginia. She drove me to and from school every day, fed me, put up with me and we really had an opportunity to get to know each other. She was very kind and caring and I will miss her. I’m sorry I can’t be at the service. I wish Nancy, Gary and Alton all the best in this sad time, and I hope that all their good memories of their Mother will comfort them.

  4. We (Wheeler, me and our 2 little girls) were neighbours of Miss Virginia for a mere handful of months but we were thankful for the opportunity to visit with her and become friends. We would apologize every chance we got just in case our girls were too loud. She would laugh and tell us to live life and not worry about it. She was a sweetheart who loved to visit. Blessings, prayers and comfort for her family.
