Walter Balcerzak, Jr., of Vienna, Virginia died on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Fairfax Hospital.
Beloved husband of 59 years to the late Lorraine Balcerzak; loving father of Claudia Hannigan, Elizabeth Maksymiuk, Karen (David) Morin and the late Walter "Chip" Balcerzak. He is also survived by one sister, Rita (Matt) Blakely; six grandchildren, John, Nicole (Dan Jefferies), Julie, Stephanie, Emily and Katie; and two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Henry.
Walter was a World War II veteran who was a Bronze Star recipient. He enjoyed being with his family. Relatives and friends are invited to Walter's Life Celebration at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Road, Vienna, Virginia on Thursday, March 6, from 6 to 8 pm and where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 7 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
