William "Bill" J. Smith (age 80) of Vienna, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at his daughter's residence in Marshfield, Massachusetts. Beloved husband of the late Virginia S. Smith; loving & devoted father of Barbara Maloit; grandfather of Shanna Townley of Pembroke, Massachusetts, Daniel Maloit of Raeford, North Carolina; great-grandfather of Lucy & Eliot Townley. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.

It was great going over to Uncle Bill’s house to watch the fireworks on the 4th. Aunt Gini would have a spread of food and Uncle Bill would bring the crabs in on the back porch. It was always a good time because I got to spend the weekend with my Dad (Buddy),Rose and my Great Aunt and Uncle. Uncle Bill also helped me get into my first loan payment on a Ford Taurus. It took me 6 years to pay that car off but thank God for him….it was a great car just like him…love you and miss you my Great Uncle Bill!
