Grace Derittie Goings

Mrs. Grace Derittie Goings, 97, of McLean, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday afternoon, June 30, 2021. There she was reunited with her beloved husband, John Wesley Goings, Sr., to whom she was married for 67 years until his passing in 2010. High school sweethearts, they married prior to his service to our country in World War II.
Loving mother of Charles Wesley Goings, John Wesley Goings, Jr., and the late Ronda Ray Goings, Grace joyfully welcomed the births of ten grandchildren, and several great and great-great-grandchildren.
The eighth of nine children, Grace was born March 5, 1924, in Mount Airy, North Carolina, to Crancy and Lula Bennett Queen. She was predeceased by her brothers Sidney, David, Willie, Raymond, and John and her sisters Needa, Lillie, and Minnie.
Funeral services will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
