Janet Kay Hughes, nee Janet Kay Dewar of Springfield, Mo. died peacefully in her home in Fairfax, VA on October 23, 2019. Proceeded in death by her parents David T. Dewar and Gertrude M. Dewar and her husband of twenty four years- John Joseph Hughes. Survived by her children James Robert Offutt, Jr. and Christine Kumari Offutt. Her step-children Michael Vincent Hughes, Eric Joseph Hughes and wife Louise Ingebritsen-Hughes, Christine Wysor and husband George Moomaw Wysor, Jeffrey Hughes and wife Roseann Hughes, Paul Anthony Hughes and wife Colleen Hughes, and Marjorie Madeline Lamoso and also by her beloved step-grandchildren: Michael Hughes, Jonathan David Hughes, Daniel Patrick Hughes, Matthew Phillip Hughes, Rachel Moomaw Wysor, David Hughes, Alberto Manuel Lamoso, Carlos Javier Lamoso , Josephine Elizabeth Hughes, Solana Noel Lamoso, Julie Allison Hughes and George Byron Hughes.
A memorial service will be held at Money and King in Vienna, VA on Sunday, November 3rd at 2pm. www.moneyandking.com . I did not have the opportunity to meet Janet K Hughes, but I did have the pleasure of meeting her daughter Chrissy Offutt. I am thankful to her for bringing such a kind and loving person into the world. A person that gives and gives, with no limit to the love that is generated. Her work helping children with special needs is an example of this. Her friends are also a testament to the good that you created. Sending sincere condolences from California.
