Jean Wilcox Robb of McLean died peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, with her loving husband, family, and trusted care giver at her side. In addition to her husband of 67 years, Donald O. Robb, she is survived by four children and six grandchildren.

Jean was born June 20, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Raymond John Wilcox and Irma Hayes Wilcox. She grew up in Grosse Pointe, graduated from Wellesley College in Massachusetts, and received a Master’s Degree in child psychology from the University of Michigan. It was there at a student mixer that she would meet Don, a recent graduate of West Point and a U.S. Air Force pilot working on a Master's Degree. Married at Grosse Pointe Memorial Presbyterian Church, Jean and Don began a life in the military, living in Washington state, Ohio, Colorado, Alabama, Florida, Michigan, and ultimately residing in McLean for 50 years. Along the way, she raised four children, worked as a school psychologist, was an active Girl Scout volunteer leader for several decades, and eventually joined the professional staff of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital, where she retired as Director of Training after more than a decade of service there. Following that, Jean and Don embarked on a 30-year journey as partners in a flight training company. Jean was a member of Lewinsville Presbyterian Church for almost 50 years and served in many capacities including Deacon and Elder. Her grandchildren were central to her life and she also loved to travel with Don and spent many happy days on cruises from the Caribbean to Europe.

A celebration of the life of this remarkable woman, wife, and mother will be held at 2pm at the Lewinsville Presbyterian Church, 1724 Chain Bridge Rd, McLean, VA on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018. She will be interred at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered in Jean’s memory to Heifer Foundation or the Girl Scouts of America.
