Justin Patrick Berney

justin berney
Justin Patrick Berney was born on 12 October 1971 at Shaw AFB, Sumter, South Carolina. He accompanied the family on his Father's Air Force assignments to Germany, Texas, back to South Carolina, and finally to Washington, D.C. where the family still resides in nearby Vienna, Virginia. Justin graduated from Paul VI High School, class of 1989. He then joined the Air Force.

Following a training accident, his enlistment was cut short and he returned home. Alternating work with attending Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University, he graduated in 2010 with a B.A. in Communications.

Justin had a great love of the outdoors begun and nurtured by Sunday Volksmarches with his Dad. An enthusiastic Scout, from Cubs to Boy Scouts, he attained the rank of Life Scout. He especially enjoyed a camping trip to Canada with his troop and a two week High Adventure in the Maine wilderness.

He also loved his classic heavy metal music and was an amateur musician. Poet, photographer, computer freak, and comic book aficionado; his interests were wide and varied---jack of all, master of none as they say.

Justin was loved by family and friends.

  1. My heart breaks for you all right now. We know too well the pain of losing a loved one and have found comfort many times from the Bible’s words at Job 14:14,15. We are eagerly awaiting this and many other of God’s promises for the future being fulfilled. Until that time arrives you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

  2. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. When someone we love dies, it’s natural to want to see that person again. God promises us that He will comfort us in our trials if we go to him in prayer. 2 Corinthians 1:3 calls him the God of all comfort. I’d like to share with y’all this link that shows 12 steps on coping with grief that is good for sharing. I have personally found this very comforting and I hope y’all do as well. https://www.jw.org/finder?wtlocale=E&docid=102018086&srcid=share
