Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Ken was a good friend and business compadre. We shared many fun and exciting road trips together over the years, often planning them around golf outings (Myrtle Beach and Huntsville were epic) or attending concerts (U2 in Boston), and of course numerous business trips to support our military. I will always remember his generosity, his joy in sharing stories about his daughters, and his excellent sense of humor. Ken, Kenny, Kenito (I called him by all 3 names) will most certainly be missed. JMA

  2. What can I say? A great friend who I share many great stories with I cherish and will never forget. I’m truly at a loss and find it very difficult even to write this short note. My Virginia Gold Cup companion and poker night partner at Le Chateau. You are missed Ken. Missed bad. Casey Goeckerman

  3. Ken Lemons
To us, Kenny was the ultimate brother and in law. Loving, cheeky, social and generous. Welcoming (Yvette) into the Lemons way of life was unconditional. Through the years he was our Hawaiian constant. ‘When are you there?’ he’d ask I’ll make it, meet you there at the Mai Tai bar, Marriott’ He brought himself and his older brother Roger by surprise to our Hawaiian wedding in 2004, then by himself to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Spoiling us was all part of his spirit. Countless outings/dinners full of laughter and thoughtfulness. A Beach boys concert in the Park, a homemade thanksgiving dinner, and played tour guide in his hometown. Along with joining in on family reunions around the country. Just hanging out was a pleasure and will be sorely missed. Rest in peace Brah, From Bobby and Yvette Lemons Mahalo and aloha A hui hou ‘until we meet again’

  4. Shari and I want to offer our sincerest condolences to the Lemons family. We met Ken in 1988 at Lamaze class and had been close friends since. He was such a great guy and garnered respect from everyone he met. Ken and I worked closely together in industry after my retirement from the USAF and he loved telling people that we met in Lamaze class, which always raised some eyebrows. Ken and I were once playing a round of golf at Hurlburt Field when Ken asked me to come over to his cart. When I arrived, Ken asked what kind of snake he had pinned under his putter. I took a quick look and, having lived in the area for many years and familiar with a variety of native snake, I said “Ken, that would be a Pygmy rattlesnake”. Needless to say, we moved along at a rather brisk pace. Ken always had such positive outlook, a wonderful sense of humor and lived life to the fullest. He shared memorable moments in our lives such as birthdays, promotions and retirement. He was a loving father and grandfather who doted on his daughters and grandchildren. He will me missed. Michael and Shari Curtis

  5. Kenny hosted my bachelor party at his house in Arlington in 1982. I believe the movie Hangover was based on that evening. Always have great memories of my times with him.
